On Friday night, May 29, 2020, rioting and violence broke out during the protests near Fort Greene Park in Brooklyn, New York. This morning, neighborhoods residents discovered this #BlackLivesMatter message made out of the ashes of a burned police van that had been set on fire. Photo credit: Jessica Stockton Bagnulo

As I type this, protests are taking place across the country, a collective outcry for justice for George Floyd, the latest brutal murder of a Black man at the hands of the police, another loss in the seemingly endless acts of systematic violence and racism we see and hear about every day. Despite a potentially lethal pandemic, people are channeling their grief, outrage, and exhaustion and taking to the streets to insist with action that #BlackLivesMatter, many participating in peaceful acts of civil disobedience.

Whether or not you are able to show up and participate in person yourself, one of many ways to support this necessary movement is to help raise bail funds for those willing to take an arrest for their civil disobedience. Below is an evolving list of organizations that are accepting donations for bail funds for #BLM protestors. (Please feel free to message me directly if you have info on other legit organizations doing this crucial, behind-the-scenes support work, and I’m happy to add them to the list.)
